Hi! My name is Sarah and I’m a skincare addict – Okay, that’s a little bit of me overexaggerating, but I do LOVE skincare products. A skincare routine is one of those daily rituals that you get 5 minutes (or more) to pamper yourself, nourish your body from the outside, and take a breather before starting or ending your day. It’s really special. In this article, I’m sharing my favorite skincare products I’m rotating through right now.
A note on skin types: depending on your skin type, or concerns, these may or may not be right for you. I have acne prone skin that gets aggravated when I use to many products, and due to hormone fluctuations. My main goal when looking for skincare products is something that is gentle but still cleanses well and targets my specific skincare concerns during the hot summer and cold winter months here in Canada.
So scroll through and read about the skincare products I’m loving right now, from facial cleansers to facial oils to natural deodorants, and more.
10 Skincare Products In My Summer & Winter Routine

La Roche Posay
Toleriane Ultra Fluide Face Moisturizer
This light and creamy face moisturizer is perfect for extremely sensitive and reactive skin types and will keep your skin moisturized and happy even during the dry winter months. The key ingredient, Neurosensine, relieves discomfort from skin sensitivity. It’s also formulated with thermal spring water to soothe skin and shea butter to hydrate. I tested it this winter after seeing it recommended by Susan Yara. Not only did it help my skin stay hydrated but it also helped calm by acne prone skin. I’m now on my second bottle.
Routine Cream
Baking Soda Free Natural Deodorant
This deodorant company changed my views on natural deodorants – because it works! A women-led, Canadian business based out of Calgary, Routine Cream covers every body type with formulas from vegan, charcoal, to baking soda free for sensitive skin (which is what I use). They only use clean ingredients and are aluminum free so you can trust what your putting on your body is good for you. Depending on your location, you can access refill stations to prevent jars from ending up in landfills.

Farmacy
Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser
This facial cleanser smells great and is gentle on your skin so it won’t dry out and cause further irritation. The product goes a long way too, with the pump letting out just enough product to cleanse your face without wasting any. Farmacy is known for using clean farm-sourced ingredients and science-based skincare formulations to create their skincare products – it’s good for your skin and the planet.
Sunday Riley
C.E.O. GLOW Vitamin C and Turmeric Face Oil
Vitamin C is a beneficial antioxidant that protects your skin for the environment and also reducing the appearance of dark spots. I’m loving C.E.O. Glow by Sunday Riley. It’s the first facial oil I’ve tested and was worried to would cause acne, but it didn’t! Instead, it absorbed into my skin quickly and left it feeling soft. Since it absorbs quickly, I use it similar to a serum and follow up with my moisturizer to lock it in.

Peace Out
Salicylic Acid Acne Healing Dots
In my battle against acne, I’ve tested concentrated salicylic acid spot treatments, and other healing dots, but these dots from Peace Out are my favorite thus far. They contain both healing hydrocolloid technology AND salicylic acid that no pimple can survive. They stick to your skin right away without budging all night, so you can leave them on for 8 hours and wake up with a pimple that’s reduced to nothing.
Ole Henriksen
Balancing Force Oil Control Toner
It seems like every skincare influencer online is promoting chemical exfoliators containing AHAs and BHAs. Depending on your skin type, these skincare products can be to harsh. What I love about Ole Henriksen’s Oil Control Toner is it was gentle enough to use for my skin and also contained acne fighting ingredients. I use this a couple times a week to help remove dead skin cells and prevent dirt from clogging my pores. If you love Ole Henriksen I’ve also reviewed another one of his toners here.

Glow Recipe
Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask
Like the product above, this sleeping mask contains AHAs to exfoliate your skin and slough away dead skin cells. It’s gentle enough to not cause any irritation and is paired with hydrating watermelon extract and hyaluronic acid to achieve smoother skin overnight. Unlike some chemical exfoliants, Glow Recipe’s Sleeping Mask does not tingle and feelings soothing and cooling upon application.
Laneige
The Water Bank Moisture Cream
I discovered this lightweight cream moisturizer this year with my Sephora membership birthday gift. It feels very soothing, nourishing and hydrating. My first impression is it’s best for dry skin types, or during the winter months. It’s a little too moisturizing for my skin during the summer, however, I would repurchase later in the year. Formulated with vegetable extracts to strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier, hydrate, and balance your complexion.

Farmacy
Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya
Farmacy deserves a second mention for their Daily Greens gel moisturizer, which I’ve purchased 3 times now! If you care about avoiding silicones in your skincare products you will probably love this daily moisturizer. As a gel, it’s very lightweight but sinks into the skin quickly and contains hydrating hyaluronic acid. In addition, Moringa Seed Extract and Moringa Water refreshes your skin and protects it from environmental impurities like pollution.
Vichy
Minéral 89 – Fortifying & Hydrating Daily Skin Booster
Another superstar skincare product for dry skin or dry winter months is Minéral 89 from Vichy. If you’re noticing your skin’s moisture barrier is suffering, add this hydrating booster underneath to fortify your skin. Made with 89% thermal water and hydrating hyaluronic acid, this has become a regular part of my winter skincare routine.
